No. There are no fees to apply for this grant.

When is the deadline for submitting applications?
The online application will remain open until April 15. In order to be considered, all sections of your application must be completed and all required documents must be uploaded to your online application by 12:00 a.m. MIDNIGHT (Pacific Standard Time PST) on April 15.
NOTE: When a deadline date falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the application is automatically extended to close of the next business day.
What if I am missing documents and cannot upload them before the deadline?
Due to the large number of applications submitted, no required forms will be accepted after the deadline.
Is there a minimum SAT or ACT score or Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement?
No. The Foundation does not require a minimum score on the SAT or ACT or a minimum GPA for the JobRedi Grant.
I am pursuing a vocational Associate’s degree at one of the listed schools. Am I eligible for the JobRedi Grant?
No. This grant is only available to students pursuing eligible certificate programs at the qualifying schools.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION SECTION
There is an error in my first/last name. How can I correct it?
You can correct an error in your fist/last name by clicking “Account Settings”, found in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Why do you ask for the name of my local newspaper(s)?
Often, the local media will announce and congratulate grant winners within their community. By providing this information in the application, we are able to provide a list of our winners to the proper individuals.
Is there an income limit?
There is not a specific income limit, each applicant is considered on a case-by-case basis.
A Student Aid Report (SAR)/Dream Act Report or your parent’s income tax return is REQUIRED.
Why do I need to submit my parents’ income tax return?
Generally, full-time students under the age of 24 are claimed as a dependent on their parents’ income tax return. If you are not claimed as a dependent, you should submit your personal income tax return.
What do I need to submit to verify critical financial need?
After you complete the FAFSA, you should receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) / Dream Act Report form showing your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). You must upload this document for your application to be considered complete.
What are the adversity questions and essays?
Grants are awarded to those students who have confronted and overcome significant adversity. It is important that applicants are as detailed as possible so as to provide the selection committee a clear picture of individual circumstances.
ACADEMIC INFORMATION SECTION
Am I required to be a high school graduate in order to receive the JobRedi Grant?
Yes. In order to be eligible for the JobRedi Grant, an applicant must be a high school graduate (or graduated by the upcoming Fall semester.
Am I required to submit proof of my high school diploma?
Yes. Within 30 days of accepting the Grant and prior to the disbursement of any funds, a copy of the recipient’s high school diploma must be uploaded to their online application.
How do I submit my documents?
All documents must be uploaded through the online application. No documents submitted by mail, email or fax will be accepted. No exceptions.
Do I have to be a United States citizen to be eligible for a JobRedi Grant?
No. You do NOT need to be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for the JobRedi Grant.
Do I have to be a San Joaquin County or Stanislaus County resident to apply for a JobRedi Grant?
Yes. An applicant must live in San Joaquin County or Stanislaus County to be considered for the JobRedi Grant.
Am I required to submit proof of residency?
Applicants must verify their California residency by uploading one of the following documents to their online application:
- A copy of your current California driver’s license/learner’s permit
- State-issued ID showing address
- Current High School Student ID Card
NOTIFICATION AND AWARD INFORMATION
When are the Grant Recipients notified of their selection?
Recipients will be notified via email by the end of May. Additionally, a complete list of recipients will be posted on the www.jobredifoundation.org website.
If I am awarded a JobRedi Grant, how will I receive my money?
If you are selected, disbursement information will be sent to you. The JobRedi Foundation will present your check to you.
If I am selected, are there restrictions on how I can spend the JobRedi Grant funds?
You may use your grant funds toward personal expenses to help you achieve your certificate (tuition, books, gas money, daycare, food, etc.).
Can I use a JobRedi Grant at any college and for any major/certificate?
No. Scholars must attend one of the qualifying community colleges and be pursuing an approved certificate. (See application for a complete listing.)
If I am awarded other scholarships or financial aid, does it affect my eligibility for a JobRedi Grant?
No. If you receive a scholarship or other funding that covers your basic expenses of tuition, fees, books, and on‐campus room and board, it will not affect your eligibility for a JobRedi Grant.
